I recently unearthed a few extra copies of Caught In Flux, the zine I published between 1992 and 1999, so I thought I'd put them up here. Issue 6, published in the summer of 1997, is possibly my all-time favorite issue. It's certainly the biggest, at 72 pages. Including:
- Bis, talking about Scotland
- Debsey and Rachel of Dolly Mixture
- Jane Fox from Marine Girls/Grab Grab The Haddock
- Neil Hamburger, then working the pizza-shop circuit
- Wandering Lucy
- Laura MacFarlane
- Small World Experience
- Kumari and The I Live The Life of A Movie Star Seret Hideout, two of my favorite NYC bands of the time
- Pen pal letters from Teenage magazine, 1984 (I still have some of the originals and should really publish them someday)
- Lots about my first trip to the UK, including a review of Belle & Sebastian's 1996 show at the Borderline. I barely had any idea who they were!
Honestly, it's just packed with stuff, if I do say so myself, and a great time capsule as well. I can feel through the pages how self-confident I was. I'm proud to make it available again.
